CEO & Executive Consultant

Kara brings nearly 30 years of experience in the aesthetics industry, beginning her career as an esthetician and spa manager before founding Aesthetic Practice Partners in 2013 and KDS Consulting LLC in 2004. Her expertise stretches across neurology, primary care, dermatology, and plastic surgery, with the last 16 years devoted to cosmetic and aesthetic medicine. She’s held senior roles including Vice President of Operations for a national 57-practice healthcare group, Practice Administrator in dermatology and plastic surgery, VP of Sales in the aesthetic medical device field, and private Practice Management Consultant.

Kara’s strengths lie in her ability to drive strategic business change and differentiation for physician practices, private equity groups, and industry companies. She is one of the few “Board Certified Medical Practice Executives” by the American Medical Group Management Association, with academic training in Business Administration and Health Care Administration, and certification as a Wellness and Professional Coach.

Beyond her consulting work, Kara led the nonprofit Beauty for Good and founded Empower Esthetics, a nonprofit supporting women’s leadership in aesthetics through mentorship, community service, and educational grants for those facing economic or personal barriers. She is known as a sought-after speaker and respected industry consultant, delivering sales training for cosmetic manufacturers and distributors.

Deeply involved in her community, Kara is also a dedicated wife to a 32-year law enforcement veteran, mother of five, and, as of 2024, a proud “Glamma.” Her family grounds her, but her passion for advancing the aesthetics field is what fuels her career.
